Bryce, Zion, and Death Valley

Photos) November 1-13, 2011 These shots were taken during a trip to Utah for a photography workshop in Bryce and Zion National Parks. On the way back I stopped in Nevada's Valley of Fire State Park, then headed for Death Valley for 3 days of camping and photography with the Sierra Club. Trip highlight - The Narrows in Zion without a doubt. |

Pacific Northwest Trip

Photos) July 10 - 21, 2011 This trip was all about photography. Two friends and I began on the northern California coast at Crescent City, then up the Oregon coast for a couple days. We then headed for the Olympic Peninsula for three days followed by Mt. Rainier NP. Alas, this year, the wild flower show at Rainer was still a month away! Wonderful shots nonetheless!!! |

Trip to Maui (View
Photos) June 13 - 24, 2011 Last year I explored the big island and Kauai, so this year I decided on Maui. All I can say is Wow!!! I spent the first 4 days on the east side exploring the Hana area beaches, waterfalls, and Haleakala's bamboo forest. Then it was on the the west side to meet with friends for lots of exploring, hiking and exploring. You just can not beat the sunsets and sunrises here in the islands. |

Yosemite in Spring 2011 (View
Photos) May 9 - 11, 2011 My annual spring trip to Yosemite, and one of my absolute favorite photography sites. The Dogwood blooms were spectacular this year and I spent a good deal of time looking for really nice blooms in interesting compositions. I'm particularly pleased with the close-ups. Some wonderful water cascade and sunrise/sunset shots as well. |

Table Mountain Wildflowers and
Scenery (View
Photos) April 22, 2011 April is a wonderful time to visit Table Mountain, near Oroville, CA. On this visit I was hiking with two friends, Randy and Ed. Our turn-around point was the cavern under Phantom Falls on the North Table. The hike began with very gray flat skies but that changed for the better toward the end of the day. |

Poppies, Deserts, and the Grand

Photos) March 30 - April 6, 2011 Spring is a great time to visit the desert SW. On this trip I travelled through southern California (Antelope Valley Poppy fields, Joshua Tree NP, and Anza-Borrego SP). Then on to southern Arizona (Organ Pipe Cactus NM and Saguaro NP in Tucson). Wrapped it up with a photography and a hike to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. |

Winter Wonderland - Alberta,

Photos) January 26-30, 2011 These photos were taken during a 5-day winter photography tour in the Canadian Rockies, including Banff National Park and nearby wilderness areas. A lot of our time was spent on the ice covered Lake Abraham and in various areas along the Ice Field Parkway between Lake Louise and Jasper. |
