This was my first experience snowshoeing - great fun! Our hike leader, Paul Cyphert, did a great job showing us the ropes. What a great way to get out in the wilderness after a fresh covering of snow.
     
  Fall Color Photo Shoot in Eastern Sierras and Mono Lake
October 16 - 18, 2005  
Fall Colors were just peaking in the Hope Valley and eastern Sierras during this 3-day photo shoot. Mono Lake was spectacular as well. Return trip through Yosemite was marred by overcast skies and smoke.

This was a Sierra Club sponsored day hike led by Guy Brown. Fall colors were evident everywhere, especially around Grouse Lake which was just spectacular. One area was just like a beautiful Japanese garden.

September 16 - 18, 2005 
This was my first visit to Loon Lake which is located in the Crystal Basin area of the Sierras. It was a 2-day kayaking trip arranged through REI Adventures but there was plenty of time for hiking as well.

This was a Sierra Club sponsored day hike led by Guy Brown. The trailhead was at the east end of Wrights Lake and led into the Desolation Wilderness to both Twin and Island Lakes at almost 8200'.

This was a short solo backpack trip along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) from the Boreal Ski area trailhead to Flora Lake. Wish I could have stayed longer!
Claire Tappaan Lodge (CTL) Hiking and Photo Shoot
August 5 - 7, 2005  
This weekend, arranged by Sierra Club Hike Leader Richard Crescitelli, was all about photography. We stayed at the CTL near Donner Pass and enjoyed a weekend of photography and hiking in the area.

This was a solo hike from Carr Lake, north of Emigrant Gap, along Freely Lake and then around Island Lake. This whole area is covered with beautiful little lakes.
